  • Does anybody know if you really have to publish the story on your blogpost to show it in the SERPs? I see its potential, but i’d rather use stories solely in the SERPs to convince people to visite my webshop without showing the story on the actual webpage..

  • I definitely do stories. I think we have a lot of people who’s content creation efforts start with WhatsApp stories and we will definitely see more of such content creators who find it easy to create this type of content. I also think it’s great that Google is considering them

  • It would be really beneficial to have a way to export these to video (using the built in timings) – that way your effort could be uploaded to other sites (FB IG) where stories are just short portrait videos.
Google could probably help by creating a stories site to do for Web Stories what Youtube does for video.

  • Like you, I’m not that much into the social media Story feature BUT we cannot deny its reach and potencial.
Therefore, marketers as myself can’t avoid creating content for it and know how it works. With that being said, I think Web Stories MIGHT (another big might as you mentioned in your video) be a great Google search feature, but it should work the same way the other ones do:
    1. They should be placed ON TOP of all search results. Some might say: “but Google ads should be on top”, but as other social media platforms work, stories are first and then the content + ads. The workaround here could be sponsored web stories.
    2. The web stories building process could seamlessly work with the post/page you create: background web story image is the featured image, heading is the title, supporting text is the excerpt and the link is the URL, of course all this out of the box, but with the ability to change all of these to whatever the creator would like to update. IF this works with dynamic content, much better.

  • Looks like they ripped off canva. I think it could be a good idea for people wanting to browse the net looking to waste time. However, I’m thinking for more indepth technical how-to’s/guides, this would be wasting people’s time. I’d rather have a short, enticing metatag. I think this is Google wanting people to stay on Google.com for longer

  • Hey Adam
Thanks for the video! As you said at 0:28 that Stories originally came from Instagram, I need to correct you as they actually weren’t founded by Instagram but by SnapChat. It’s no secret that they stole the idea behind Stories from SnapChat as you can read for example in this article here 👉 mashable.com/article/kevin-systrom-instagram-stories-snapchat/

I see your points that it takes time to additionally integrate Stories into any business/brand communication, but I truly believe that it’s a great move from Google to implement Stories! The possibilities with Stories are huge and the fact that now Google integrates it into the Search Results opens up a new way of creative organic SEO oppertunities!

I’m personally looking forward to the Story Builder by Brizy. I believe their Story Builder will be released in 2020/2021 and will surely be as intuitive as nearly everything in Brizy – simply the brizy way! 😉

  • Love watching your video’s and being part of the WPCrafter fb group, you did make me chuckle with your 666 comment though you girlie lol.( it’s the living that kills yer )lol. anyway would I read a Story? nah not really, but then saying that , a particular story may just grab my attention and I think the presentation ie graphics would have quite a lot to do with it. As for would I use this to perhaps help with google rankings of my quite new classified ad’s website, well yes as soon as I finish this comment I will watch your video once more and probably follow your steps. Would I wait until it’s possibly better thought out etc mmmm there’s the rub! in an ideal world of course we would all love there to be an all singing all dancing google web stories where you just press a button and hey presto minimal effort maximum gain! but what if this does take off? do I really want to be late to the party? I already have a website with approx 30 blog articles which links back to my classified ad’s website, so why not give this stories thing a go. so whats it gonna cost me? just a couple or more hours of my time, and I can assure you I waste more than that each week just staring at the beautiful Bulgarian mountains and countryside from my garden. so yes I’m now gonna get started, so have a good day people.

  • Yo Adam! I don’t do stories. I could see them useful as a “snap guide” type overview of a course. Like “10 tips to stop biting your Nails in 10 days” and the link would go to a habit modification course you have. Or “learn Linux in 10 minutes” in an overview story and link goes to a fuller course on the subject with a discount code link or something.

  • The main problem with stories is how many people actually visit your website. In this world of swipe people just swipe left and right without actually checking out things properly. Google is trying to keep user in google search result itself and prevent it from leaving it out of there. Providing short answers in snippets and all. Google wants to become like a dictionary for almost all question asked

  • hello Adam. can you make a video on how to make a custom multi-field search in WordPress? I have a csv file with more than 100,000 entries. I want to use 4 search boxes and a submit button. whenever a user searches for something from the csv file, the user has to fill the search boxes and click the submit button to get the desired result.
